Meatballs – Special Edition
We'll Give You One Hell Of A Holiday
Before teaming up in Stripes and Ghostbusters, Director Ivan Reitman and Bill
Murray bring you their first collaboration in Meatballs. The wackiest head
counselor in North Star camp history, Tripper Harrison (Bill Murray) devotes his
summer activities to cracking jokes, chasing female staffers, and plotting the
demise of their evil rich rivals, the snotty young brats at nearby Camp Mohawk.
Jam-packed with hysterical off-the-wall hjinks, drop-dead gorgeous babes in the
woods and the riotous one-liners of the one-and-only Bill Murray, Meatballs is
an Animal House goes to summer camp (Newsweek) comedy classic!
Critic Reviews:
- " For those of you that are big fans of the cult comedy hit Wet Hot
American Summer, Meatballs is the summer camp movie it parodied the most, even
though Meatballs had a bigger heart and was strictly PG. " –
Eric Melin
- " It's Murray's spontaneity that gives the movie its lifeblood. But
Murray also shows an early, rare example of onscreen tenderness. " –
Jeffrey M. Anderson
- " The scenes between Murray and Makepeace are nicely handled, and the
lack of mean-spiritedness is refreshing. " – Matt
