The Car Man is a new musical dance sensation from Adventures in Motion Pictures, the creators of Swan Lake. Its cast of male swans turned the ballet tradition upside down and it was hailed as one of the dance highlights of the decade.

Award winning director and choreographer Mathew Bourne uses the stirring and passionate music of Bizet’s Carmen as the basis for a completely new and original tale. Classical ballet, jazz, modern and even flamenco influences are combined in the unique style of choreography creating a very exciting, contemporary feel.

The production tells a story of the dreams and passions of a small community which are shattered by the arrival of a handsome stranger. Fuelled by heat and desire the inhabitants are drawn into a spiral of greed, opportunism, sex & murder.
