Author Biography:

Mac is a Chartered Marketer and a Chartered Manager specialising in advising organisations on management and marketing, with experience of people at all levels. While very well qualified in his disciplines, Mac has a knack of making the complex appear simple, the theory work in practice, and creates both entertaining as well as effective learning experiences. His passion is transferring his knowledge and experience to others to enable their work to become more fulfilling. Authorship: A writer for professional journals, he co-authored Below-the-Line Promotion (1992), the Fundamentals of Advertising, 2nd Ed (1999), and The Fundamentals and Practice of Marketing 4th Ed. (2002) with John Wilmshurst and is Editor of the 5th Edition of The Practice of Advertising (2004). He is sole author of Motivation, Ability & Confidence Building in People and Recruiting, Retaining & Releasing People (2007). Education: An Honours graduate from Leeds University, he holds a Diploma in Marketing, a Masters' Degree (MBA) in Strategic Marketing and was elected a full Member of the Chartered Management Institute. He was awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Management from Northampton University and accredited Chartered Manager (since 2012) and Chartered Marketer (since 1994). He achieved a CAM Diploma in Digital Marketing from Oxford College (2014). Pastoral: Mac is married to Jan and they have the good fortune to share five children. He has coached junior rugby, is a former RFU Society Referee, an 'advanced motorcyclist', and 'over-the-hill' jogger. He enjoys reviewing his personal collection of sea-shells that remain on public display on the beaches of the world...
