Description

Marriage at Midlife provides counselors, mental health professionals, and marriage educators with the tools they need to understand and assist couples who are experiencing the challenges and opportunities of the post-childrearing years. This unique book is enriched with quotes from hundreds of interviews with couples married 20-50 years. Written by a pair of veteran researchers and communication educators, ""Marriage at Midlife"" identifies the communication processes that hinder and help couples during an important period of life transition. This book provides an accessible list of analytic principles and an overview of key issues professionals are likely to hear about from clients. It includes narratives reported by long-term couples to get clients thinking about marital challenges in a new light. It features learning exercises and additional resources.
