C: Prepared Under the Direction of the Church It will do so, by constituting a bond of unio among the members of the church - makin them acquainted with each other, and wit all that is done in the church; and thus pro moting union, harmony, and brotherly love. In olden times, they that, feared the Lor spake often one to another, and the Lord hearkened and heard it. The great obstacles to a personal acquaintance, and familiar inter course among Christians, in a city like this. Are, their wide dispersion, the continual Chang in their places of residence, and the conseque difficulty of ascertaining where they reside, from year to year. The following manual will obviate these difficulties. Every mem of the church may be furnished with it; ar it is hoped, will feel the obligation of ca] vating that spirit of mutual intercourse, which has, in former years, been so productive of good to this people. A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another. Hereby know we, that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren.' Thereby shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one towards another. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
