I loved it. I brought it as I loved h20 just add water. And I can't wait for season 2
This is the spin off show of H2O, so if you liked that you will LOVE LOVE LOVE this show. New mermaids and a merman, they are all young and attractive. Great series for pre teens and teenagers. My daughter is 14 and loves it to bit ( must admit I'm hooked myself and I'm not 14). Great present for Christmas or stocking stuffer. If you have girls in the family then this is a must have. One of the best shows to come out in 2013.
Mako Mermaids (aka Mako: Island of Secrets) is an Australian TV series for pre-teens, children and teenagers. The show is a spin-off of H2O: Just Add Water.
Sirena, Lyla and Nixie are three young mermaids from the Mako Island pod. It is their sole duty to keep trespassers away from the magical Moon Pool, but on the night of a full moon, the mischievous mermaid girls neglect their duties.
Zac, a land dweller, enters the Moon Pool and forms a special connection with Mako. He is given a fish-like tail and amazing powers. The mermaid pod is forced to leave Mako, leaving behind the three mermaid girls, who have been cast out of the pod. They know there's only one way they will be allowed to rejoin the pod: They must get legs, venture onto land and take back Zac's powers – or risk being outcasts forever.

Mako Mermaids TV Show Review
“Mako Mermaids is a spin-off of Nickelodeon's H2O: Just Add Water, but the cast is entirely new to this series. The show is geared toward teens, but it's likely to draw in younger fans as well…the content is conducive to this wide span of ages…the girls prove that they're more than pretty faces, and positive themes about friendship, respect, and looking past appearances are worthwhile for the show's young viewers. Mako Mermaids retains many touches of the original, most evidently the emphasis on three beautiful teen mermaids who aren't exactly best friends in the beginning but whose relationship evolves over time. New to the mix is a male character, and a merman at that, which gives the show a distinct flair and a little more macho charisma. It's possible that this change could entice the boy demographic somewhat, but more likely it will just ramp up the appeal to the girls who are already watching…” 4/5 Common Sense Media
