At work in Hoover Dam, Dallas Mack struggles for equality. She hopes for respect, recognition, and equal pay in the white mans' engineering world. At home in Las Vegas, she strives for meaningful connections in her diverse metro neighborhood. Because Dallas believes, "When in Rome do as the Romans do," and since she floats into and out of contrasting social circles, she has lost all sense of self and bond with community. For some reason Dallas does not understand, she attracts bad luck, not bad luck, but pure evil. Once she discovers her extraordinary potential, Dallas harnesses her gift and stops relying on others to save her. But will her magnetism and the help of new friends defeat the immortal Vlad the Impaler?

Author Biography

T. N. Kaylor lives in a "classified" location in Nevada where she weaves an endless parade of colorful characters into macabre tales that keep readers up all night. As a child, timeless reruns of The Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock Presents served as her black-and-white babysitter. Her early literary influences included Stephen King and Edgar Allan Poe. At age twelve, she wrote her first horror story on wide-ruled notebook paper with a No. 2 pencil. As it circulated, she found the horrified reactions of teachers combined with the squealing delight of her peers to be powerfully addicting. She has been writing ever since. Over the course of her career, she has been a technical writer, published academic and copy editor. Now, building on those literary skills, she chooses to inject her dark humor and twisted imagination of the weird, surreal and grotesque into gritty, character driven fiction. She has published several short stories in weird anthologies and fringe magazines. Her print-only collection of word art, The Zen of Horror, is now in its forth edition. Her urban horror novella Magnitude features a magnetic battle with Vlad the Impaler. And for a dystopian apocalypse-in-progress series, try Nevadaland 1- The Players with beasts, robots, and aliens that add an X-Files flavor to a dying alternate world. Currently, she's working on Nevadaland 2- The Games and Nevadaland 3- The Fires. For a brutal spin on science fiction, look for her dark space
