This publication documents the ongoing Made in Liverpool project, a partnership between Liverpool Biennial and Liverpool Culture Company. The book is a chronological, visual journey through the project which began with a call for submissions from local filmmakers, and included an award-winning film and a number of groundbreaking neighbourhood showings. Attractively reflecting the project's theme of Beneath the Skin of the City, the book includes narratives from the various groups involved and visual documentation from the project. The book also includes two DVD's; "Best of Festival" and "Daydream". "Best of Festival" is a collection of shorts hand-picked from an overwhelming 150 submissions by a jury made up of international and local experience and expertise. "Daydream", by established filmmakers Desperate Optimists, is a highly poetic and meditative work tracing the connections between a changing city and the emotional world of its citizens.
