Description

A brother and sister will not put away their toys at the end of the day, no matter what their mother says. When Mom reminds Joey and Lisa about the mysterious Madame Cat--who comes in the night to gather the toys that children refuse to put away--the children will not believe the story. After their toys disappear, the children stay up past bedtime and lay a special trap for Madame Cat--to see if she is real. Will the cat in the green taffeta gown take the bait?

Author Biography:

Richard Dow is an ordained Lutheran pastor currently serving an interim ministry for the Florida-Bahamas Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He has taught public speaking and religions at a local college, and has a love of classic cars and old movies. As a dad with a wry sense of humor, Richard first brought Madame Cat to life as a bedtime story for the Dow children, and now for two grandsons. Richard lives with his wife, Melissa, in Jacksonville, Florida, along with a host of new story characters just waiting to be introduced to his grandchildren. Rose Grier Evans is an award-winning book illustrator and has been a professional artist for more than thirty years. She enjoyed working with the author, portraying his vision for Madame Cat with whimsy and wit, and filling the illustrations with meaningful details specific to the Dow family. When not working on art projects, Rose is an advocate for abused children or she is busy tending goats on the family farm. She lives in north central Florida with her husband and enjoys spending time with family and her two grandchildren.
