The White Tree stood as a symbol of Gondor in the Court of the Fountain in
Minas Tirith. The once great realm of men is now dwindling as decay and despair
descend upon its people.
Son of the Steward of Gondor, Boromir joins the Fellowship of the Ring as a
representative of his people. At Amon Hen, the Ring consumes
Boromir’s thoughts when he finds himself alone with Frodo in the Parth Galen
woods. After failing to take the Ring by force, Boromir shakes himself free of
the madness that took him, but too late, for the scattered Fellowship is
attacked by Uruk-hai.
Slain with many thick-hafted arrows, Boromir thought himself to have failed.
Though Aragorn reassures him that he fought valiantly against overwhelming odds
to protect the Halflings.
The sigil of Gondor is stamped into the silver-plated brass pendant, and
bears words spoken by the future King:
Be at peace, Son of Gondor
– The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
