These are a few of the fully realised Tolkien inspired games. The rest I find are lacking in some way whether it be in capturing the essence of Tolkien or just because the actual game is just blatantly bad. xD These games are just so fun and fell the most real of alot of strategy games. Like when you charge in with troops on horses, they actually charge in and smash through everyone! Unlike Age of Empires III where the horses just stand there with their riders swinging the sword! =P

The campaign in the first one follows the events of the movies and it is one of the best to play through! You'll play as heroes fighting through Moria to hundreds of troops defending the onslaught upon Helms Deep. It really is an epic feeling to see the troops all clash together, just like in the movie! The second Battle for Middle Earth however shows what happens in the North which is quite interesting but ultimately disappointing as it only features 8 missions compared to the first which featured like 30.

Don't worry though! It's a great strategy franchise which is worth playing!

Trying not to be prejudice as the biggest TLOTR fan, but this is the best game ever! Its one of those games you just can't get bored of! Multi player is best (as it is with almost every game!), but its still loads of fun in single player. You can also download a modification for Rise of the Witch King which has a few more teams and powers. This is a MUST HAVE for anyone that loves strategy games, particularly Tolkien lovers!

the games are in a strategy format which is very well done in my opinion, The graphics are good and gameplay is fantastic. *build massive armies *invade lord of the rings territories *play as mordor,isengar­d,elves,rohan, gondor,men,goblins, angmar etc.
