I bought this speaker system a couple of months ago, and I'm quite happy with it. It sounds very decent playing music (I listen to heavy metal/rock) as well as in games.
When I listen to music I keep the sub level down to just below halfway otherwise it begins to sound far too bassy. But I crank the sub up in games and movies for explosions and gunfire etc and it sounds great, plenty of punch and definition for the price.
The wired remote volume control is surprisingly handy, the cord from the remote to the sub (the sub is where everything connects to, power, L&R speakers etc) is quite long so it allows for the sub to be on the ground, and the volume remote control to be up on your desk. The remote control is also handy for plugging in auxillary input (like for a game console) and taking it out again in easy reach. Same goes for plugging in headphones next to the auxillary input.
The system doesn't look half bad either, with a glossy black finish on all parts alternating with a silver finish.
I would recommend this system to anyone not wanting to spend huge amounts on a 2.1 system, but still wanting to retain sound quality and functionality.
