Educational law and law-based reform have had a profound influence on the work and professional life of school headteachers. Comparing law-based reform in the USA and the UK, this book presents detailed reflections from headteachers in England who consider what law-based reform has done: providing opportunities for leadership and entrepreneurship, creating divisions between strong and weak schools, and affecting local politics vis-a-vis education.
