"Intense, kinky, fps zombie action!!!!!! "
5 stars"

Left 4 Dead is insane and one of the best games that have been released in a long time. Within 30 seconds of starting up a game there will be at least 15+ (literally) zombies, with arms flailing, screaming and trying to stomp your face in. These zombies aren't the classic type, they are superfast and will smash, tear, climb and run to get to you. They are the type of zombies that if you saw coming you would head tail and make a dash for it. Valve have pulled it off big time with this one.

You may be thinking, “Hmmmm. There are only 4 campaigns, this game surely must get extremely repetitive and very boring.” Yes the setting is the same everytime, but the AI director ensures that no game is the same. Every time you play, The AI director manages the game differently and adds boss zombies, weapons, health pick ups and other accessories as well as the normal zombies. One time you might be playing and suddenly a massive horde of about 30, or so, zombies will come sprinting round a corner intent on curb stomping you and your buddies faces in. In addition to this, there is a vs mode which is extremely fun. One team of four plays the survivors while another team of four plays the boss zombies as spawned by the AI director. The survivor team must get the best score in a level based on a number of requirements and the Zombies must kill or slow them down in order to minimize their score. After the level is over the teams switch and the survivors now become the zombies and vice versa. Once both teams have finished the next level begins, when all the levels are completed in a campaign, the points are totaled and the winning team announced.

The sounds and the voice chat are amazing, much better than most games and when this is combined with the bleak atmosphere created by the highly professional, Valve, creates a horrer game that would give nightmares to anyone ranging from tiny toddlers to old women in their 80s.

One thing that needs to be fixed is the matchmaking as it can be hard to find a game, but there is an easy fix to this. Simply enable the console in the options and then open the console by typing ~ (top left of keyboard) and type in “openserverbrowser” (without quotation marks).

In conclusion, Valve have created the game that many mods have attempted to create in vein, the game that everyone dreamt a developer would one day forge via hard, sweaty labor on computers in an overcrowed office with 50 other people. Like I said before, the game is insane and you'll have to play it yourself to truly understand what I mean. So buy it and I'll see you on there chumps. (My steam name is Darkmessiahnz, add me if you want a game.)

"Oh my god"

What does the title of this have in relation to the body of this? It's one of the things you'll be screaming into the microphone constantly while playing.

Hands down, this, along with TF2, is one of the must have multiplayer games. It's visceral, it's fast paced, and it's FUN. This may be the best implementation of Co-Op I've ever seen.

Also, a unlisted selling point is the fact that there is split screen for PCs, granted you're willing to get your hands a little dirty.

Well, I've played single player since it arrived today. the first campaign was very short – a mere 1hr. However, gameplay gets harder and longer with each campaign. Shame the boss figures are the same as SIN Emergence. Otherwise good game. No story at all – straight shoot 'em up. Oh, and don't think a mounted machine gun gives you any safety from the hordes… Enjoy!!

Description

Left 4 Dead (L4D) is a new action title from Valve, creators of the Counter-Strike and Half-Life games, and promises to redefine the co-operative genre as those titles did for multiplayer and single player action games.

Set in a modern day survival-horror universe, the co-operative gameplay of L4D casts four “Survivors” in an epic struggle against hordes of swarming zombies and terrifying “Boss Infected” mutants.

Valve’s next generation AI technology, allows for games of 1 to 8 players. Players can play as a Survivor or as one of four types of “Boss Infected,” each of whom possess a unique mutant ability such as a 50-foot tongue lasso or a giant belly full of explosive methane gas.

The gameplay takes place across four massive campaigns. The “zombie” population of each mission is choreographed by an “AI Director” that monitors the human players’ actions and creates a unique and dramatic experience for them on the fly.
