It was just a harmless glance at a book; a simple attendance at a parapsychologist lecture; a mysterious old estate with a sinister history; an archeological exploration into a suspicious cave on the islands of Greece. However, what author Taunja Bogart's latest Christian novel, LED ASTRAY: From light into darkness, displays is that what is seen as innocent ventures into the dark arts can unleash powers that no one should tamper with, especially without the power of God within. Such is the case for several characters whose lives become intertwined in LED ASTRAY: From light into darkness. The central characters of this suspenseful story all have differing ways of handling the unfolding events in their lives. The story centers around a murder trial of the son of a prominent business man who has ominous ties to a secret organization called The Society. After the father, John Reed, pleads his son's case to the Chairman of The Society, events are put in motion for a young, ambitious attorney, Jessica Wentworth, to become the defense for Reed's son. However, the more she becomes involved with the case and Mr. Reed, the more she's sucked into The Society and its dastardly ways. Another person involved in the case, newly appointed journalist Cassie Connor, has found her interest growing in her friend Victoria's dabbling in the dark arts, fueled as well by a lecture from a parapsychologist she attended. Her friends, especially former co-worker and strong Christian Miss Lillian, are concerned that Cassie is going down a path that is taking her further from her Christian beliefs. Cassie's friend, Dr. Roger Stanton, also encountered some dark arts of his own while investigating inside an ancient cave in Greece; one that the villagers state has demonic spirits roaming freely within it. Finally, there is the mysterious circumstances revolving around an old estate, the Spence Estate, which has recently come into the possession of Cassie's new friend Eric. The original owner had committed suicide in the estate's attic, and stories had been circulating that he might have also had connections with The Society. A thrilling exploration into the ways Satan can tempt people with fame, fortune and power, LED ASTRAY: From light into darkness exemplifies that these pursuits will always result in personal tragedy when one owes the devil for these gains. The greatest freedom and "fortune" comes from a loving, grace-filled relationship with the Heavenly Father.
