His son, Mr. Charles Andrew Lane, visited Hingham, England, in the summer of 1891, and saw Lane monuments in the churchyard there. Mrs. Mary Avis (hodges) Lane, secretary of the annual Lane Gathering at Norton, Mass, has been untiring in collecting mate rials relating to the families in that vicinity; Mrs. Mary Dwight (lane) Gilbert has been very prompt in forwarding items of family history.
