The old mop we had was a large cumbersome thing you had to pump to get to work and was not modular. A pain really. I was looking for something that could convert to handheld, had a detachable tank, and did a good job across the board. I was a bit skeptical after reading review of Kogan online but ordered anyway.
Wow! Is the first word I thought of. It's light. Heats up fast (make sure not to keep it on for more than 10 mins) and does the floors beautifully. I do question the little pump that makes a small clicking noise but we'll see how that holds up. I then detached the main tube put the other pad onto the handheld unit, and steam cleaned the outside of the stainless refrigerator. Done in about a minute. Put the wire brush on and started tackling the oven (ours was really bad) and that is slowly coming off as well.
With the 10 minute run limit you do have to plan your cleaning a bit so I vacuum first, steam mop next and let that area dry while I vacuum the next area. Just a bit of coordination. Also a good idea to turn down the steam (as it produced A LOT) prior to finishing an area and let the pad soak up some of the water. Yes, it does leave quite a bit at the highest level of steam production. But, man, the floor is clean.
Make sure to put distilled water in the tank (10l is $8), which in itself is detachable and a smart design. It has the take up hose with a metal ball on the end to ensure that the take up hose is sucking in water. That means you can hold the handle downwards or upwards. Really smart.
All in all, a great tool. Now to see how well it hold up with my pretty consistent and fastidious use.
