"My most anticipated title of 2012."
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

First off, can we agree on getting that two star review removed- It's a bit asinine for an arbitrary low score to be given to a game because someone doesn't know what it is.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is the beginning of a new exciting RPG series created by American developers Big Huge Games. It's the first of two announced games the second being an MMO which is set in the future but in the same kingdom of Amalur.

Amalur is a world lovingly created through the writing of acclaimed fantasy novelist R.A Salvatore (The Highwayman, Drizzt), art by Todd MacFarlane and the world building skills of former bethesda (Creators of Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout) members.

It's an RPG but with a twist. It has a large action orientated focus when it comes to combat and a hugely free and diverse way of building your character. Instead of being made to choose which type of character to create at the beginning before you've played your character evolves and changes in real time as you decide how you wish to play using the diverse range of weapons and magic's of the game.

This is the most exciting part of the game for me, whilst being a true RPG in all senses, with character growth, choice and stat building, looting and everything you love. The gameplay looks to not be at all repetitive and boring but more visceral and engaging. This combined with the pedigree of the team behind this hugely promising game makes it my most anticipated title of 2012.

I can't wait to get into this game.

"The new contender in the RPG World!"
5 stars"

This game looks like a cross between Oblivion and Warcraft, one of the creators actually made oblivion and morrowind. As a fan of RPG's this will be a must have for me.

"Promising"

From trailers and whatnot, Kingdoms of Amalur looks like a mix between Dragon Age, Fable with a sprinkle of Elder Scrolls. However, seeing as it is not out yet, only time time will tell whether it will become great or another failed RPG falling short of greatness.
