Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue reviews

This game bundles in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance (in full HD and 60fps), 0.2 Birth By Sleep -A Fragmentary Passage-, and X Back Cover cutscenes. I have to say I was blown away by how excellently done this game is. This is the best looking iteration of Kingdom Hearts to date and leads onto Kingdom Hearts 3 perfectly. I can't wait to see what Square Enix does for Kingdom Hearts 3. I fully recommend for any die hard Kingdom Hearts fan.

The game contains 1 new game which is not in any of previous release and its the 0.2 Birth By Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage – and 1 Movie X Back cover version of the mobile game X Unchained while Dream Drop Distance was already released and not much of an addition really.

So only get this if you want to play 1 game and just watch the movie online.

Back Cover is a another backstory with cutscenes like the other collections with 358 days cutscenes from 1.5 and coded with 2.5. KH 3D is a port from the 3DS game with team members called Dream Eaters in a way it's like collecting Pokemon. Borrowing some elements from Birth by Sleep battle system and uses wall as well as poles for different styles of attacks. KH Birth By Sleep 0.2 is a story you play as Aqua when she's in the Realm of Darkness. Features a new magic system that is going to feature in KH3 which is kind of cool but you can access Spellweaver her Command Style from BBS. But I could not understand why you could not have Ghost Drive,Blade Charge or the elemental ones from BBS. I felt the game was short and not enough diverse enemies as well as KH2's MP system. I felt the story wasn't that great despite of how the story from KH2 onwards is all over the place. If you're a big KH fan you should get it but even as Aqua is my favourite KH character I felt there could of been more effort put into the game.

Converting a 3DS game to the PS4 was done quite well and although I liked have a big map on the 3DS version, being able to play it on the big screen is amazing. Dream Drop Distance is fun, energetic and creative. A fragmentary passage is also a great teaser for KH3 but is way to short and limited with what it does. Also the movie Back Cover is pretty confusing and they don't do well to inform the player with what is going on in the story. Nice visuals though. Out of all of the re releases of these games it is probably the weakest but still worth getting if you are a fan!

Pretty fast shipping and a top notch game to play if your a fan of the series.

Wasn't sure if I'd like this game but I'm really enjoying it!!

Though not Kingdom Hearts 3, 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue provides 2 playable chapters that builds up to the 3rd main title of the series, and a 1 hr cut-scene that shows where all the current events of Kingdom Hearts all began.
