Karas - Vol. 1 previews

Consistent beautiful visuals. The battles are very cool to watch, Karas fights at a superhuman pace & strikes various cool fight stances as he goes – it seems he also has a huge range of projectile weponry & summoning, morphing capabilities along side his swift & deadly sword. The enemies are mechanical demons – he manages to plow through 3, plus the first battle is… 4 & the other character is…5 – so plenty of action eye candy here. Emphasis may have been put into the fights but the scenes featuring dialogue are also a delight to watch – the mix of traditional hand drawn & CGI is executed very very effectivley & meld together unobtrusivly. Much is revealed in this first episode, it may be a bit much to fully understand but an intreguing story line is unfurling. Cant wait for the next one!

Finally released in New Zealand! “The Prophecy” is part 1 of 2 of the Karas OVA series. Filled with beautiful animation, amazing action scenes, i don't think you have to look any further than this. The first thing one notices when watching this is the visuals.. i must believe it is one of the best-looking anime I've ever seen. The series begins with a bang, seamlessly blending in CG and traditional animation with a 6 minute aerial action scene…

The OVA is set in modern day Japan, humans and demons (youkai) have lived amongst each other since the beginning of time. Over time, humans became confident and eventually forgot that demons even existed. Yuri and her servant, the Karas have long maintained the balance between the two worlds. Karas became disgusted at human arrogance and turns his back on what he has been standing for for many long years, and launches a attack on the human race with mechanized demons! To battle this threat, Yuri appears with another Karas, and the war begins!
