Description

This is the true story of Junia Baum - a young Jewish girl, merely twelve-years of age, living in Eastern Europe when the Germans invaded her town of Boryslaw, Poland. It was on September 1st 1939, that the Germans invaded Poland on a mission to kill every Jewish man, woman and child. They took the lives of Junia's father, grandparents, sister, aunts, young cousins, and friends. Junia and her mother, Zlata, were able to survive snowy winters and harsh conditions for three years by hiding in an attic, a cellar, a ghetto crawl space, and caves and ravines within the Carpathian Forest. This is the story as told by Junia, in her own words, as she recalled her Holocaust experience through her eyes as a twelve-year old. Nevertheless, through all that Junia endured, she emerged maintaining the purest, kindest, gentlest of souls. This is her story.
