"Great if you're into Japanese Horror"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Although not as suspensfull as it's American counterparts this film is pretty great. A few hair raising moments that Japanese Horror film makers seem to do very well. In Japanese, the subtitles aren't an issue as it's simple to follow the plot lines that inter-weave through one another brilliantly.

I found these the grudge movies are very thrilling and interesting because they’re scary

"Really Disappointing!"
2 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Being a lover of Asian horror/ghost films, I purchased Ju-On: White Ghost/Black Ghost with great anticipation of some excellent viewing. How wrong could I be! Both films use the same film structure – basically starting at the end, and then weaving convoluted vignettes that eventually coalesce into the final narrative. White Ghost was amateurish, poorly acted and laughable. Black Ghost was marginally better, offering better production values, slightly better acting, and a more engaging story concept. Neither film offers any true suspense, ambience or decent scares. Overall, a real disappointment. Not recommended.
