Author Biography

Annelies Schulte Nordholt enseigne la litterature francaise a l'Universite de Leyde. Auteur de monographies sur Blanchot et sur Proust, elle travaille actuellement sur la memoire de la Shoah et sur la representation de l'espace urbain dans la litterature d'apres-guerre. Paul J. Smith est Professeur de Litterature francaise a l'Universite de Leyde. Il a beaucoup publie sur la litterature francaise premoderne, sa reception aux Pays-Bas et l'histoire naturelle premoderne. Annelies Schulte Nordholt teaches Modern French Literature at Leiden University. Besides monographies on Blanchot and Proust, her current work is on the memory of the Shoah and on representations of urban space in post-war French literature. Paul J. Smith is Professor of French literature at Leiden University. He has widely published on early modern French literature, its reception in the Netherlands, and early modern natural history.
