"Compelling, Inspiring, Empowering."

A very compelling book from the beginning, which only becomes more inspiring and empowering as Duff discusses the change and progress Jacinda has made for our country and for the world. I was especially touched by revisiting the strength, solidarity and compassion with which Jacinda acted after the Christchurch mosque terror attacks and the power she has given to women and mothers alike who may or may not choose to have children and work. What also stood out to me was that, even discussing topics such as rape & sexual abuse, it ends on an optimistic note full of hope that victims will always have care and support. Overall, a well written and highly recommended read!

"Inspirational"
5 stars"

I first became aware of this book when I noticed old men trying to hide in bookstores across the country. I bought a copy for myself and then ended up buying one for my parents. Great insights, objective viewpoints and some powerful points about the influence gender bias and hostility has on the politics of an entire nation. Great read, would recommend.

"Well-written and enjoyable read - great gift"

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book. I learnt a lot about Jacinda Ardern that I didn't know (I haven't followed her career closely, I have to admit). It is a really well-written book by an experienced journalist. I'm giving it to a couple of family members as Christmas gifts and I think they'll enjoy it too.

Description

Written by Stuff’s key political journalist Michelle Duff, this is a comprehensive and insightful look at New Zealand’s youngest ever Prime Minister. It will trace her political beginnings from childhood years, her work with Helen Clark before entering Parliament ten years ago, and her incredible ascent to the top office at the 2017 elections. Her first two years in office will of course feature prominently, as too pregnancy and motherhood, her overseas reputation and of course the powerful leadership that she showed in the wake of the March 15th Christchurch terrorist attacks.
