My Herbin pen arrived with a fine nib instead of the advertised medium one, but I'm not worried about that as I prefer the finer nib. This is quite a short little pen and it would easily be the shortest fountain pen I've ever owned, – so it's best if you write with the cap pushed on the end of the pen for a little better control while writing. As a cartridge pen it's a complete no mess operation when you run out of ink. I've only used Herbin cartridges so far (which are very good by the way), but apparently this pen will take standard cartridges by other makers. I haven't tried this out yet so I can't really comment on it. Otherwise it's a lovely pen that's a delight to write with.
