**Italeri: 1:72 DC-3 Swiss Air*
The twin engine DC-3, developed by Douglas Aircraft Company during the 30s, was a real milestone in the history of civil aviation. Its low-wing configuration, good engines, and excellent performance made it one of the most significant transport aircraft ever made and a revolution in the airline industry. A lot of commercial operators and airlines used it for short and medium routes. Swissair, the national airline of Switzerland, used the DC-3 in the late '40s and '50s. Reliability, low running costs and good load capacity made DC-3s popular the world over.
