Description

This new handbook provides an authoritative overview of intellectual property issues facing commercial lawyers. Written by a team of experts from Bird & Bird, it sets out the principles behind the various IP rights, showing clearly how to apply the law in practice. The book explores the main types of IP right encountered in commercial practice: copyright; designs; patents; trade marks; and confidentiality. It outlines the relevant law and demonstrates how to apply it in common commercial transactions. A discrete chapter covers the assignment of rights, covering both licensing and the transfer of rights on the sale or disposal of a business. Further chapters cover IP in a digital context, and competition and taxation issues.
