When we look to the power of our faith to energize and uplift our mental attitude, we must persevere in the quest. We must persevere in the belief of our Lord's ability to help. We look clearly to him who can transform the heart and soul, to transform the patterns of our mind. In our struggle for recovery and for successful living, we turn to the remedial power of our religious faith. How do we do this? We focus our energy on recovery. God has created us and endowed us with his Spirit. We turn our thoughts to God, to his greatness, to his promise to heal us when we pray. We open our minds to him and look to his power, and we ask him for a sound mind and a sound body. We ask to be led to the paths of righteousness and wellness. We ask plainly for inner strength and for courage to see things through. We rest on the thought that in quietness and calmly resting will be our strength-and our recovery. We will remember that Spiritual energy can be heroic, impelling, giving fortitude to life; and Spiritual energy comes with the intrinsic ability to heal.
