Description

Why do honey bees sting? How do they make honey? How are they different from wasps? These and other questions most often asked about honey bees are answered as a curious cat wanders through an interesting story with simple rhyme, enchanting illustrations, and up-close photographs from the world of this critical insect. The author speaks nationally on behalf of this insect to groups of all ages and levels of knowledge about this important pollinator. Her website provides free, additional resources to support learning about honey bees.

Author Biography:

Beekeeper Charlotte Hubbard tries to help the honey bee, a critical pollinator, through teaching, speaking, and writing. She wrote this children's book to put bee-positive information in the hands of children, with the goals of both helping the essential honey bee, and promoting reading. Find more information about honey bees and her efforts at www.hubbardhive.com. Carolyn Robinson Fink is a graphic designer who usually creates advertising materials for clients, but has always been a doodler. She was thrilled with the opportunity to educate children about honey bees, and encourage them to read. Sara Beachler help bring this dream to life by navigating the world of digital publishing, and enhancing the work of the author and illustrator.
