"The rising star of the mid 1970's David Cassidy"
3 stars"

Were you a fan of The Partridge Family, Did you glue yourself to the Television whenever the hunky David Cassidy made an appearance ? Did you have your bedroom walls adorned with David Cassidy posters (For Me it was in the years of Leonardo Dicaprio and Heath Ledger). This book flashes back to the year 1974 , David Cassidy is the new teen heartthrob and for Welsh teenager Petra , it's like Donny Who ? ,I only care about David Cassidy. Her Bible growing up had nothing to do with religion but was in fact “The Essential David Cassidy Magazine” , whom had no relation in fact with David Cassidy himself, but a Music Journalist Bill. Fast-Forward Twenty-Four Years later........ Petra , is flicking through a magazine and comes across “The Ultimate David Cassidy Quiz” – The Prize, to meet David Cassidy. For Petra, this is a dream come true, but as she claims her prize. Is this the perfect moment she has been waiting for or have her expectation preceded her ? This will appeal to anyone who's lusted after a celebrity – no matter what generation your pin-up comes from. It's a funny but poignant story that was well worth the wait. And the book ends with an interview the author did with her own teen hero, and answers that most vital of questions: is brown really Cassidy's favourite colour?

Deliciously clever and touching, with a compelling twist, I THINK I LOVE YOU asks what happens when the man you thought you loved turns out to be somebody else…In her bestselling debut, I Don't Know How She Does It, Allison Pearson spoke to mothers everywhere. Now, in I Think I Love You, she is back with her pitch-perfect ability to observe our lives, loves and relationships. We enter the world of two unforgettable friends: Petra and Sharon, in 1970s South Wales, who live for David Cassidy. His fan magazine is the girls' Bible and they memorize every word that he sings and writes, in the hope of becoming the future Mrs Cassidy. But unbeknownst to Petra, and to millions of other hopefuls, David's letters may not be all his own work. The secret lies with Bill Finn, English graduate turned reluctant pop journalist, whose job it is to compile the Ultimate David Cassidy Quiz. Top prize: the trip of a lifetime, to meet your one and only love. Over two decades later, bruised by grief , Petra is living with her thirteen-year-old daughter, who has her own teen crush. By sheer chance – unless you believe in destiny -Petra discovers that the questions which obsessed her back in 1974 are suddenly very much alive. And Bill, successful in business but never in love, has some confessions of his own…I Think I Love You is a classic story of friendship across the decades. A romantic comedy with a broken heart, it is Allison Pearson at her humane and captivating best.
