East Village, New York City. Marcus bums around the streets with his crew.
It's the summer of his fifteenth birthday and he's struggling to find morality in a city that does its best to keep him down. His father is dead, his mother is behind bars and he dreams of the day she will be released so they can move back to the New Mexico ranch where he was born.
By mid-summer, Marcus has fallen in love and peer pressure has forced him into bigger and more dangerous crimes. A series of shattering revelations and an accidental killing force Marcus to finally strike out.
