This book is the first-hand account of Myra Brooks surviving with her husband, George Brooks, and her sister-in-law, Ethel Brooks, for two days on the desolate, hurricane-ravaged Mustang Island starting on September 19, 1919. Each survivor had a rope tied around their waist and they held on for dear life on the sturdy salt cedar bushes on the top of the sand hills.
