Howl's Moving Castle (Special Edition) reviews

An amazing movie filled with magic and action. Howls Moving Castle is a movie I feel in love with, I have yet to decide who is my favourite character in the movie or which colour hair Howl suits more. But certainly an excellent movie, as we follow Sophie and her adventure to find a way to remove the curse that was placed upon her. She is introduced to the world of magic, witches and wizards as she makes new friends, and finds all is not what she was lead to believe.

My favourite movie ever! Worth buying/watching if you love Miyazaki movies you will love his movie rendition of Dianne Wynne Jones book.

Miyazaki has delivered his usual brilliance with “Howl's Moving Castle”. As with all of Miyazaki's films, it is visually spectacular to watch. The story is ,of course, also a great one. It is captivating from start to finish. Right from the beginning you are drawn in to an exciting world of witches, wizards, fire demons and secret spells. It is such an exciting story that even adults would enjoy watching it. It will bring out your inner child and rekindle your imagination. This movie will not disappoint.

Anime either works for me or it doesn't. This take on Howl's Moving Castle works so well. It has great animation and voice acting (all too often the downfall of an otherwise good animation) and the story flows along so smoothly…It probably won't appeal to all audiences – I think you have to have a certain bent towards anime to start with – but it works as well for children as it does for adults, albeit maybe at different levels.

Brought as a Xmas present for teenage daughter.

This was a wonderful collector's item. I will forever cherish this, and at such a great price…

I love the book and I love this movie. Some things have been changed for the movie, but it's still a great story. Hayao Miyazaki didn't make random changes, he made it a story that was better suited to a visual medium.

Needs a certain sense of imagination and humour but I loved this movie and all it's quirks. It keeps the storyline going but in a way that's random and entertaining. Great movie!

I loved this movie. There's not a dull part in it, it grabs you right from the beginning to the end.

The characters are amazing, their development through out the film, how they interact with each other and also just the brilliant animation is enough to make them jump out at you.

It’s truly a masterpiece, a must in ANY collection

Ever since I began an East Asian pop culture course, I have become fascinated with Miyazaki-san's work. To date, I have watched Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and this one and out of the three, this one is my favourite!

The story contains elements of magic, war, humour, and love. All this is portrayed with outstanding detail, tons of colour and a lot of imagination. Out of all the animated films that I have seen, this is easily the best looking.

I highly recommend this film to anyone who loves to laugh out loud and just be entertained. This will surely keep the kids entertained during the upcoming school holidays. Miyazaki-san is an anime genius.
