Author Biography

Jessica Gunderson grew up in the small town of Washburn, North Dakota. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of North Dakota and an MFA in Creative Writing from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She has written more than fifty books for young readers. Her book Ropes of Revolution won the 2008 Moonbeam Award for best graphic novel. She currently lives in Madison, Wisconsin, with her husband and cat. Keino describes his illustration work as atmospheric, humorous and expressionistic, combining lots of emotion into one single image. To achieve this emotive response he uses a variety of methods, mixing traditional and digital drawing/painting. The inspiration behind this work comes from dark humour, nature and the creative genius that is Kurt Vonnegut. Aside from art Keino enjoys music, reading, vulture spotting and the occasional chance at karaoke. He is also an avid member of the Beano fan club!
