"Blue grass/banjo/folk/country sound from Lyttelton, New Zealand."

After watching Hope And Wire, the movie about the Christchurch Earthquakes (my friend's daughter was in it), I liked the sound of (The) Eastern. I like all sorts of music, and come from a musical family (Dad plays Musical Saw, I play Keyboard, Spoons and the Fool, uncle played accordian, other uncle played Tea Chest). Listen to tracks before purchasing if not your style.

"Awesome NZ Country Rock sound"

This is a fantastic album. If you like blues, country rock, and enjoy getting behind NZ artists then this is a CD for you. Very cool sound!

Constantly on tour the eastern have played in every nook and corner of the good isles of New Zealand, and have broken strings and dented floors in parts beyond. From Papanui to Portland, Shirley to Sydney they've seen more than their share of barrooms and street corners, but treat any opportunity to hold it down and play as a gift and one they'd be fools to waste. They play like they mean it, like it's all they know how do…because they do and it is.

The Eastern now return with their 3rd full length album. A double album. Hope & Wire. A lot has happened to them and where we live in the past year and they have a lot of stories to tell and a bunch of things to sing about…

Time to put ya work down, ya feet up, pour a whiskey and have a listen, it could well be the nicest thing you do for yourself all year.
