Adolf Hitler is perceived to be the most evil political leader of twentieth-century Europe. Martyn Housden is Lecturer in Modern and Contemporary European History at the University of Bradford. He is author of Helmut Nicolai and Nazi Ideology (Macmillan, 1992) and Resistance and Conformity in the Third Reich (Routledge, 1997).
