DANIEL SNOWMAN is Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Historical Research, UK, and has worked in both the academic world and at the BBC, where he was responsible for a wide variety of radio series on cultural and historical subjects. His recent books include Fin de Si?cle: How Centuries End 1400-2000 with Asa Briggs, based on his BBC Radio programme, and The Hitler Emigr?s.
