Description

The world's largest passenger airship LZ 129 Hindenburg was the pride of Nazi Germany. Destined for disaster one fateful evening in 1937 it is considered one of the most tragic accidents in aviation history.

Enjoying the success of his endeavours, young engineer Merten Kröger (Maximilian Simonischek) is part of an elite team responsible for the realisation and launch of behemoth of the air, the zeppelin Hindenburg. Swept into a romance with Jennifer van Zandt (Lauren Lee Smith, The Last Kiss) he becomes aware of a nefarious conspiracy over embargoed fuel involving her father, American industrialist Edward van Zandt (Stacy Keach, Mike Hammer). Charged to uncover a hidden bomb Merten must convince the crew of van Zandt's terrorist intentions. With 97 lives at risk, en route to Lakehurst New York, the Hindenburg carries enough explosives to not only scar the skyline but etch a chilling new chapter in the history books.

An ambitious multi-million dollar European miniseries, Hindenburg also features Golden Globe nominee Greta Scacchi (White Mischief) in an epic and highly captivating historical presentation from the award winning producer of Dresden and The Tunnel.
