Author Martin Hintz is a longtime Wisconsin resident who brings to life the history, terrain, flora, and fauna of each area. Martin Hintz is a professional travel writer who has lived in Wisconsin for nearly 30 years. He has written and been a contributing author to more than 40 books, including several cultural geographies and guides to midwestern states. His books in print include Off the Beaten Path: Wisconsin, Wisconsin Family Adventure Guide, and Great National Park Vacations. A prolific writer of travel articles, Hintz has had work featured in such publications as Midwest Living, Home & Away, Milwaukee Journal, the Chicago Tribune, and Midwest Express Magazine. A graduate of the College of St. Thomas and of Northwestern University, Hintz has received honors for his travel writing from the Society of American Travel Writers, Midwest Travel Writers of America, and Council for Wisconsin Writers. He resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he enjoys hiking, fishing, canoeing, cross-country skiing, and reading in his leisure time.
