Hello I Must Be Going is a 2012 American romantic comedy starring Melanie Lynskey. It was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.
Amy is a recent divorcee who has sought refuge in the Connecticut home of her parents. Dejected and isolated she licks her wounds now uncertain of her future. Realising her failed ambitions have taken a toll on her empty nesting parents, Amy throws caution to the wind and embarks on an affair with 19-year old Jeremy – which in turn ignites her desires and creates a purpose so recently lacking in her life.
Hello I Must Be Going explores the unconventional circumstances that shape our lives when we eschew the pathways that influence others.
