Description

Brimming with ideas and written by a top curtain designer, this portfolio of designs is the starting point for anyone considering new curtains, whether to make themselves or to be stitched by a professional. The wealth of two-colour illustrations and accompanying notes present a huge range of style and fabric options for each type of window from small casement to large picture windows. They also show what works best for a particular weight and style of fabric; how different trimmings can alter the appearance of a curtain and how pelmets and tiebacks can be added to basic window dressings. There are sketches of every type of classic and contemporary window dressing, as well as ideas for combining treatments, such as curtains with blinds or using up to three layers of curtains. A final section gives essential facts and figures on planning and measuring for fabric. This is a fantastic sourcebook of window dressings, presenting hundreds of variations to suit all types of homes, whether traditional, period or ultra-modern loft-style.
