Description

Working children generally face more vulnerable health condition in Bangladesh. This study compares the health status of working children at garbage dumping sites of Khulna City Corporation (KCC). Their ages ranged between 4 and 13 years. 10.0 percent suffered from Chronic bronchitis, 21.4 percent suffered from eczema, 28.6 percent respondents suffered from Asthma, 30.0 percent suffered from various skin diseases and 10.0 percent suffered from various Contagious diseases. Malnutrition was also more prevalent among working children. So world sentiment is growing fast against the use of child labor in various formal and informal sectors, especially in garbage related activities. The finding indicates that most of the children come from extremely poor families. They have to work for their own survival and to support their families. They live in a very poor condition
