Craig Hicks is a teacher with more than 25 years in the special education field. He has worked extensively with elementary school students academically at risk due to slower developing language skills. On The Edge Of Your Seat picture books were created through his experience and philosophy that we must introduce more meaningful and motivational reading opportunities for boys at early ages. As a father, athlete, coach, and teacher he has combined his own love of sports with his professional and educational perspectives to create each authentic play-by-play sports action story. He believes the colorful action, dynamic athletic skill and competitive energy inherent in each sport is very attractive to young boys and fathers. Not only does the author strive to engage his male audience, he also provides a wonderful opportunity for families to promote positive values and cultivate solid character development by portraying sportsmanship, fair-play, determination, healthy competition and teamwork.
