It's not an adaptation of the script into novel form. It's not a novel or a short story, it's the script for the play.

The description doesn't make that very clear but it's probably important to know before you rush into buying it.

This isn't the kind of Harry Potter book you're used to, its the script for the new play.

If that's what you're after, then wonderful! I'm sure it'll be a fantastic story and I hope you enjoy it. I'm not passing any judgement on the quality of the story, just making sure you understand that it's a play script, not a novel.

Simple Googling will show that this will not be a novel, it will be a Script Book. The book will be longform prose and will include scripts and screenplays instead of stories. According to Rowling, the new work will be equipped with things common with the format of Shakespeare's wor­ks.

Who cares if it's a new story or the script. It's just exciting to have a new kind of story from the Harry potter universe. I can't wait for it to come out.

JK Rowling made it PRETTY CLEAR that the book that will be released is the NOVEL version of the play, and they are not releasing the script. Don't be confused.
