Description

The book is written for those of us who love Notre Dame Football and all the outstanding players we have watched perform over the years. Since we cover ND football from the first game in 1887, there surely are some great players highlighted in this book which none of us know. The book first tells the story about how college football began and then on to the first American football game in 1867. From there, the progression leads, to Notre Dame's first football team and its first game in 1887, then to the first Notre Dame team with a coach in 1894. Moving through the years we cover the team of players who served the great immortal Notre Dame coaches-- Rockne, Leahy, Parseghian, Devine, and Holtz, to the current season with Coach Brian Kelly. The emphasis within this book is the players and we take time our regularly to report on great games in which those great players excelled. You're going to love it. It will be like football season is year-round. This book captures the great players in Notre Dame Football. It takes the reader through introductions for Notre Dame's 31 coaches but concentrates on the great players who played like champions today and in days gone by. There are great stories in here about 128 years' worth of great games (1234 games). The book often stops in time and talks about a particular super player such as Johnny Lujack, Paul Hornung, Angelo Bertelli, Gus Dorais, Golden Tate, Knute Rockne, Tony Rice, Jerome Bettis, Vegas Ferguson, Tom Clements, Tommy Rees, George Connor, Nick Buoniconti, & Terry Brennan. You will not be able to put this book down
