For ages 4-8. Every morning in the garden by the house, Simone helps her Grandpa water the eddoes and sweet potatoes and pull out the weeds. One day Simone tells Grandpa he's missed a patch of weeds beside him. "No, I didn't," replies Grandpa. When Grandpa's back is turned, Simone pulls out the patch of weeds. So begins the tangible and touching story of Grandpa and Simone coming to terms with the loss of Grandpa's sight.
Gale Henry grew up living with her grandmother in Trinidad. She was greatly influenced by her and spent many hours listening to her tell stories. As a result, Gale developed her own love for storytelling. As an elementary school teacher, Gale has worked to show her students a variety of stories and to share with them the joy of telling and listening to stories.
