The beautifully illustrated Goddesses describes the mythology and symbolism of seventy goddesses from a wide range of cultures around the world. All the goddesses are placed in the context of their different elements: earth, water, fire and air, or their lights of the sky: sun, moon and stars. This enables the reader to find out more about their own elements and lights, through their connection with one or more goddesses. Each of the major goddesses is introduced over a dedicated full-page spread or spread; minor goddesses are discussed within sections, in discursive text. Throughout, the emphasis is on the practical lessons and wisdom that the different goddesses offer. The practical aspect is reinforced in the affirmations, meditations and simple relaxing ceremonies and rituals that are interspersed throughout the text. The goddesses, their elements and constellations in this book can help readers find a, new way to tackle the difficulties of life, find a new way and heal old hurts. Author Biography

Sue Jennings PhD is a full member of the British Association of Drama therapists and State Registered with the Health Professions Council. She currently has fifteen books in print on a range of subjects including Fertility, Ritual and Play therapy. The workshops that she runs have taken her to Greece, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Romania and, more recently, Kosovo and Slovenia. Her doctoral fieldwork has also taken her to Malaysia and she is, at present, researching Romanian folklore and the dances of Romanian gipsies. She lives in Glastonbury, where she also runs workshops and is currently performing in a play, which she wrote.
