ROBERT J. HOLTON is Emeritus Professor of Sociology at Trinity College, Dublin, Republic of Ireland, where he previously held the Chair of Sociology. His books include the successful titles Globalization and the Nation-State, (first edition 1998) Making Globalization (Palgrave Macmillan, 2005) and Global Networks (Palgrave Macmillan, 2007).
