Author Biography:

David C. Perry is Director and Professor at the Great Cities Institute, University of Illinois at Chicago. He is the author of more than one hundred reports, articles, nine books, and most recently edited The University as Urban Developer: Case Studies and Analysis along with Wim Wiewel. His research interests are in urban policy and the political economy of urban institutions, particularly universities in the comparative and global contexts. Wim Wiewel is Professor of Public Affairs and Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Baltimore. He was previously Dean of the College of Business Administration and Dean of Urban Planning and Public Affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is the author / editor of seven books and over fifty articles and chapters on economic development, suburban sprawl, and university real estate. He is a former president of the Association of the Collegiate Schools of Planning.
