Author Biography:

Author Jared Frederick is an instructor of history at Penn State Altoona who previously served as a seasonal park ranger at Gettysburg for five years. Offering a rich insider's perspective to this contemporary history of the battlefield with rare images, he seamlessly interweaves the stories of the 1860s with the present to illustrate the relevance and value of this hallowed ground.
